Tenex Treatment London

End Chronic Tendon Pain with Tenex in London or Gibraltar

At RRMG – Dr Ralph Rogers, we offer the Tenex procedure, a minimally invasive ultrasonic treatment that targets and removes damaged tendon tissue to relieve chronic pain — without traditional surgery. Located in the heart of London, we help patients get back to life and activity faster and with less downtime.

Dr Rogers has been one of the early adopters and leading clinicians using these advanced techniques in England for Texex.

What is Tenex?

Tenex is an advanced ultrasound guided percutaneous tenotomy, using a specialized ultrasonic needle to precisely remove scar tissue and degenerative tendon tissue while preserving healthy tissue. The procedure was developed in collaboration with leading medical researchers and has shown excellent success improving tendon pain where conservative therapies have failed.

Who Is a Good Candidate?

Tenex is ideal for adults experiencing chronic tendon pain that hasn’t responded to:

  • Rest
  • Physiotherapy
  • Corticosteroid injections
  • Medication
  • Other conservative treatments

If you’ve suffered persistent tendon pain for months and want a non‑surgical solution, Tenex may be right for you.

Conditions Treated with Tenex

Tenex effectively treats chronic tendon pain in various areas, such as:

  • Tennis Elbow & Golfer’s Elbow
  • Plantar Fasciitis
  • Achilles Tendinopathy
  • Patellar Tendonitis (Jumper’s Knee)
  • Shoulder / Rotator Cuff Tendinopathy
  • Other chronic tendon pains unresponsive to conservative therapy

Why Choose Tenex Over Traditional Surgery?

Minimal Invasion, Maximum Benefit:

  • Local anaesthetic — no general anaesthesia needed
  • Tiny incision — no stitches required
  • Preserve healthy tendon tissue
  • Lower risk of complications
  • Quicker recovery time
  • Most patients return to activity within weeks rather than months

Your Tenex Procedure — Step by Step

  1. Assessment & Ultrasound Imaging
Dr Rogers uses real‑time ultrasound to locate the exact area of damaged tendon.
  2. Local Anaesthesia
The area is numbed so you feel minimal discomfort.
  3. Ultrasonic Tenex MicroTip
A tiny ultrasonic needle is inserted through a micro‑incision (less than ¼ inch) to remove scarred or damaged tissue precisely.
  4. Bandaging & Recovery
No stitches — just a small bandage. Most patients return home the same day with personalised rehabilitation guidance.

Recovery & Rehabilitation

Recovery is generally fast compared to traditional surgery. Most patients:

  • Resume light activities within days
  • See significant pain relief within 4–8 weeks
  • Follow a tailored rehab plan including gentle exercises or physiotherapy to restore strength and mobility

Dr Rogers will provide clear guidance on post‑procedure care and help you transition to full, pain‑free activity safely.

FAQ’s about Tenex Treatments

Tenex is effective for chronic tendon issues such as tennis elbow, golfer’s elbow, plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinopathy, patellar tendonitis, and rotator cuff tendinopathy. It's ideal for patients who haven’t responded to physiotherapy or injections.

No. Tenex is performed under local anaesthetic using a very small incision — typically less than ¼ inch. No stitches are needed, and most patients return home the same day.

Most patients experience significant relief within 4 to 8 weeks. Many return to light activity within a few days and resume full function after a personalised rehabilitation plan from Dr Rogers and his team.

The procedure is well-tolerated and performed under local anaesthesia. Patients may feel mild pressure during treatment but minimal pain. Post-procedure soreness is usually mild and temporary.
