Minimally invasive technology eliminates chronic tendon pain by precisely targeting and removing damaged tissue, without the need for conventional surgery.

Tenex utilises a highly sophisticated ultrasonic needle that oscillates at high frequency that removes degenerated scar tissue and calcifications in the tendon, without damaging healthy normal tendon. Tenex was developed at the Mayo clinic and has been shown to help tendon pain in over 85% of patients.

The procedure is minimally invasive and performed with a micro incision that is so small it does not require stitches and generally takes 20 minutes or less. Tenex, is particularly effective on the tendons of the elbow, shoulder, feet (Plantar fasciitis, Achilles) and knee (Patella tendinitis).

The Tenex Procedure

Dr Rogers starts by cleaning the appropriate area of the skin. He uses ultrasound imaging to identify the damaged tendon during the procedure. A local anaesthetic is applied to numb the area surrounding the tendon, so patients feel only a little bit of pressure during the procedure. Next, Dr Rogers inserts the Tenex ultrasonic needle through a very small incision (less than ¼ inch) near the affected tendon. He uses ultrasound to visualise the tendon, then uses the Tenex ultrasonic needle to remove the scar tissue and calcifications in the tendon, leaving healthy tissue intact. The Tenex ultrasonic needle is removed, and the area is bandaged.
